Bromley Health Walks

Walking is great fun and one of the easiest ways to keep physically active: It is easy to start doing, build up and gradually continue long term. Walking can be done at any time; it is free and therefore accessible to all regardless of age, ability, income and location. Brisk walking that gets the arms swinging and the heart pumping is a great total body workout.
In addition, walking can also:
• Help with weight management and prevent associate illnesses including Type 2 Diabetes, some Cancers and Coronary Heart Disease.
• Promote positive mental well being and benefit your quality of life.
• Provide opportunity to be sociable and a chance to meet new people.
Would you like to walk as part of a group?
Would you like to feel more energetic, meet new people and be part of your local community? Walking in a group can make you feel safer and more confident; Bromley Healthcare's health walks are well attended and are led by trained volunteer walk leaders. We welcome all ages and abilities and our aim is to encourage people to become more active and enjoy the borough's green space in a safe and sociable environment.
Where are walks based?
Bromley's health walks are situated at various locations across the borough's green spaces. Please click here to view the programme. Walks are free of charge and they take place weekly, Monday to Friday (unless otherwise stated on the programme with the exception of Bank Holidays or in cases of severe weather conditions). There is no need to book, just turn up at the meeting location as indicated on the programme. We do ask that you wear suitable outdoor clothing on the walks (such as walking boots or wellingtons). Please also remember to bring a bottle of water and sunscreen on sunny days.
If you have any questions about our walks or are interested in becoming a walk leader please email Bromley Healthcare's Health Improvement Service at
