20th Anniversary Events
Our latest fundraising event to celebrate our 20th anniversary was our Charity Ball which took place on Saturday 23rd July and was a great success. Pictures are available to view and order on this link www.paulbrockphotography.co.uk/carersbromley. A big “Thank you” to all those who attended the Ball and our sponsors of this event, we are so grateful for your support.
The focus of the 20th Anniversary fundraising events is training for carers of those with Dementia/Alzheimers and identifying more young carers.
The Bulls Head, Pratts Bottom have selected us as part of their charity campaign for the year - please look out for their programme of events or view this link http://www.thebullsheadpub.net/Whats_On.html
Three Young Carers activities have taken place. Young Carers aged 4-10 years attended Adventure Kingdom, some of our 11-14 year olds have attended a role playing event with Labyrinthe Caves based at Chislehurst Caves and fifteen of our 15-18 year olds have attended the Churchill Theatre to see “To Kill a Mockingbird”. We are grateful to Labyrinth Caves and The Churchill Theatre for their generosity.
Our 2nd Charity Golf Day was held on Friday 20th May, kindly hosted by Chislehurst Golf Club. It was well supported and much enjoyed by all participants who enjoyed 18 holes, various competitions and a superb dinner. We would like to thank all the staff at Chislehurst Golf Club and particularly the Lady Captain, Dr Jo Lamb and and Mens Captain, Mr Ron March, for adopting Carers Bromley as their charity for the year and facilitating our golf day. We would also like to thank those who donated raffle prizes and, particularly, the Provincial Grand Lodge of West Kent for their generous donation. We raised in excess of £1,000 towards our 20th Anniversary fundraising appeal to fund further training for carers of those with Dementia/Alzheimers and to identify more young carers.
