  • Teenage Support Group (Blue Stone) - In early 2011, Carers Bromley started a new teenage support group for young carers aged 15 – 18 years.  This small support group is held once a month and is facilitated by the Young Carers Services Manager, Tracey Parry. The group is a safe place where young carers can receive emotional support, information and advice from other young carers.  There are plans to invite guest speakers as the sessions progress.  Each session will be confidential and young carers will be able to share as much, or as little information, as they prefer.   For more information please call 0800 015 7700.
  • Transition – Visit this link for information that might be helpful.
  • There is a chatroom every Thursday night from 7.00-8.00pm on the www.carers.org website specifically for young adult carers to meet with others their own age.  It is aimed at anyone who is 18-25.
  • Aged 16 or 17?  We realise that this is a time when you may be making decisions about your future.  You may be thinking about whether to stay in education, work, undertake training or whether to take a gap year.  Making such decisions is not always easy and, as a young carer, you may have greater concerns or more to consider, than other young people.
  • If you would like to meet with one of the Young Carers Team to discuss any issues about your future or about your caring role in general, please contact us on Freephone  0800 015 7700 and we will arrange a convenient time to meet you.

Young Carers 16+

Carers Bromley has received funding for a year-long project working with young adult carers aged 16 – 24 years living in the London Borough of Bromley. Two workers will identify and support young adult carers, empowering them to keep themselves healthy by offering emotional support, regular health information and educational and volunteering opportunities.  If you would like to know more about this exciting new piece of work, please contact Tracey Parry, Young Carers Services Manager, on 01689 898289.

We also have a booklet called “entering adulthood?” that addresses some of the issues faced by young people of your age and gives contact details of other organisations that offer information, support or advice.  If you would like a copy, please contact us.
