Carers Rights Day 5 December 2008

The ninth annual Carers Rights Day, a national awareness raising day organised by Carers UK took place on Friday 5th December 2008, with this year’s theme being ‘Making the most of your money’.

To promote this year’s campaign, Carers Bromley invited several speakers to talk about carers’ issues at an event specifically arranged for Carers and Professionals.  In addition, Carers Bromley had an information stand for carers to meet others in similar situations, as well as the opportunity for them to obtain advice about benefits, emotional support, respite breaks and looking after their own health.  Many other local agencies that supported carers across the borough also attended and offered help and advice at this successful event which was attended by around 100 people.
